Creating the Ideal School, Sir Ken Robinson Style

on March 1, 2012

In this blog and in all my research, I keep refining my ideas and words to better explore and articulate what education should look like. But really, Ken Robinson just says it better. Maybe that’s because he’s done this longer. Or maybe it’s simply because he’s Sir Ken Robinson. Either way, I feel that people need to hear what he has to say. And what better way to share his ideas than to simply give this blog post over to him?

The following three videos are of Robinson discussing his dreams for education. The first is a speech he gave just a week ago through Learning Without Frontiers (they have their own youtube channel).

Next up, Robinson gives an interview to a middle school media team. In this clip, he describes his ideal school.

And finally, the classic talk he gave at TED in 2006, viewed over nine million times.

If you feel inspired by his message, get the word out. Discuss it here, or share his videos with your school administrators and teachers. Share on all the myriad social media that’s available to us. His vision excites me, and I hope it does you too.
